the.silver.dawn. more than i could every say

For a little more than two years I've tried my best to make this photo blog a reflection of life through my eyes. As is such, I try to capture life as it unfolds before me. That's why I don't appear very often in my photographs, because I already color each one I take. It was Marvin Gaye who refrained from photographs because he believed that a photograph took a piece of one's soul. On a similar token, I try to put as much soul into these photographs as I can; otherwise they would be lifeless. I do believe, however, that the soul is not depleted--being frozen in time--rather it is restored in our memories, however great, warm, austere, or painful they are. The details, highlights, shadows, textures, and the colors are what I share here.

thesilverdawn is dedicated to what has colored my life, my father Silverio, and my mother Aurora (which translates to dawn. This has been both the most difficult and most important time of my life. What stays with me is knowing that after the chill of night comes the light of dawn. My silver dawn.

Thank you all. God bless you and may you know the true spirit of Christmas.

peace and love
